Free Legal Help Through Trusted
Ministry Partnerships
About CLA
Christian Legal Aid exists to serve our neighbors in need by providing free legal assistance through volunteer attorneys and legal professionals who are called to serve. Rooted in the belief that justice should be accessible to all, our clinic operates as a ministry of Christian Legal Society.
We organize legal clinics and connect clients to attorneys when they need courtroom representation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who qualifies for free legal help?
We currently serve low-income individuals and families referred through Bambinos, Embrace Grace, Salem First Baptist, and The Joseph Project. While we wish we could help everyone who reaches out, our services are presently limited to clients connected with these ministry partners.
Do you provide legal representation?
At this time, we provide free legal advice only and are unable to offer ongoing legal representation. Our attorneys can help guide you through your civil legal matter, explain your options, and answer your questions.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring any documents related to your legal matter. We may provide additional document requests when your appointment is scheduled. You may also wish to bring something to take notes with, such as a pen and paper, phone, or laptop.
How long does the appointment take?
Initial consultations typically last 30-60 minutes. Follow-up appointments may be arranged depending on complexity.
Is childcare available during my appointment?
Childcare is likely available during your appointment. Please connect with your referring ministry partner for details and arrangements.
Do I need to be a Christian or member of a church?
No. Our services are available to anyone referred through our ministry partners, regardless of religious affiliation.
